Hello Frank! This is great. Luther did something similar with the Ten Commandments. I have often thought about how the Lord's prayer is the new tablet of God's word, written on our hearts. It is amazing to see that there are even some parallels between the Lord's prayer and the Ten Commandments, as you noticed between the third commandment and "Hallowed be your name." I would say that praying "Abba, Our Father," by the Spirit (Matt 6:9, Gal 4:6) is the best way to live before God (Coram Deo) and have no rival god before him. Further, to confess that he is in heaven denies the impulse to make an image/icon/idol of him on earth. To pray "Thy kingdom come" is a plea to experience "rest on every side." A kind of kingdom-established, Sabbath rest. To pray "thy will be done," is to honor God as our Father in our lives. The parallels become a little more loose from there, but it is amazing to see how the new covenant is not just knowledge of God's law but knowledge of God himself, and that as Father!

Hey Carter. Thanks for connecting. I love how you have continued in biblical thought these great prayers. May our God walk ever so near to you and you to Him.
